Lawrence & Bundy LLC is pleased to announce that Andrew D. Herman has joined the firm as Chair of the Political Law Group. Herman is a trusted advisor and skilled litigator with nearly 25 years of experience in all aspects of political law in Washington D.C. and across the country. He advises corporations, labor unions, political committees, and non-profit organizations on compliance with federal, state, and local rules governing political activity and advocacy. “Andrew will be a terrific addition to our team as we expand our ability to work closely with clients becoming more deeply engaged in political activity in Georgia. This moment is a particularly important time in our state’s voting and political activity history,” said Allegra Lawrence-Hardy, co-founder of the firm. “Having Andrew as a highly experienced resource who can provide counsel to Georgians on campaign finance and compliance, ethics, and voting rights will enrich the political process for us all.”
Experienced in civil and federal criminal defense litigation, Herman successfully argued before the United States Supreme Court on behalf of a congressional candidate challenging the constitutionality of an election law provision. Herman also represented members of both the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate in several high-profile congressional ethics investigations. When asked about the opportunity to team with Lawrence & Bundy, Herman said, “During my past four years of working closely with the Lawrence & Bundy team on the Fair Fight voting rights litigation in Georgia, I have been consistently impressed with the firm’s dedication to excellence and Georgia's future. I look forward to assisting clients as they navigate the complexities of political activity and work to gain even greater strength and influence in the political process.” The firm is expanding its Washington D.C. presence by opening a downtown office. Herman will continue to litigate cases in federal court, provide ethics advice to Members of Congress, counsel political entities, and represent corporations and individuals subject to inquiry and investigations by the United States Congress and state legislatures.
